DJ Kazzanova, born Oscar Cortes, is a true icon in the world of Latin urban music. Hailing from Puerto Rico and raised between New England and the vibrant Inwood neighborhood of Manhattan, NY, Kazzanova was exposed to an eclectic mix of musical genres from a young age.

At just 13 years old, Kazzanova discovered his love for DJing and quickly honed his craft. In the late 1990s, he began incorporating reggaeton music into his sets, which was still a relatively unknown genre at the time. However, his unique blend of reggaeton, hip hop, and Latin music soon drew in crowds from all over the city and made him an instant sensation.

In 2001, Kazzanova took his talents to the airwaves and started the hugely successful “El Reggaeton de NY” radio show on New York’s WCAA “Latino Mix”. With his groundbreaking show, Kazzanova introduced the urban sounds of reggaeton to a wider audience and became the #1 radio personality among Latinos aged 18-34.

Kazzanova’s innovative approach to mixing music quickly made him a fixture of the New York urban sound and led to even greater success. Univision’s WCAA became La Kalle 105.9 and gave him the chance to be a part of what would become the most listened to Latin Urban Radio station in the US. He also served as the Music Director and on-air personality for NYC’s X96.3 and Mega 97.9.

As a highly sought-after studio remixer, Kazzanova has worked with top rhythmic artists such as Shakira, Gwen Stefani, Cypress Hill, Usher, Don Omar, and Alicia Keyes. He has produced for major record labels, including Interscope, Universal, Def Jam, Cutting Records, and many others. In November 2006, Machete Music released “DJ Kazzanova Reggaeton Mixes”, the first in a series of volumes that would go on to become international sensations.

With an unyielding spirit, unbridled determination, and boundless energy, Kazzanova continues to push boundaries and break barriers as a true ambassador for the hottest new music on the planet. He is known for his innovative approach to mixing different genres of music in a non-traditional way and has played for the masses in some of the biggest clubs, concerts, and special events around the world.
